Responsibilities: • Track and manage all patient records, including those pertaining to prescriptions filled, treatments received, and any other pertinent information • Remain up-to-date on professional skills by reading journals, attend training seminars, and stay involved in networks • Interview patient, family members, and others to evaluate a patient’s mental health • Follow the patient's reaction to the medication and psychotherapy methods and make adjustments as needed • Tailor treatment plans to the patient's specific emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral problems, and the severity of those problems • Treat children, adolescents, and adults with medication management while working alongside staffed psychologists and counselors. Qualifications: • Accurately measure the mood and symptoms of patients using excellent observational abilities • Superior interpersonal, and communication abilities, including the ability to explain medical concepts and situations to those who aren't medical professionals • MD or DO degree from an accredited United States medical school • Must have a strong grasp on various types of psychotherapeutic methods • Licensure to practice medicine in the state where you reside • Diagnose and medically treat psychiatric patients • See children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric • If a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you must already have your own collaborating physician Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000
