Responsible for assisting with the assurance of compliance with external and Department standards regarding case records via chart reviews and use of reporting tools within the electronic health record.

Assists and facilitates the promotion of effective and efficient delivery of services; does so via the review and analysis of data related to chart reviews.

Facilitates completion of Root Cause Analyses. Facilities external audits. Conducts investigations as needed.

Duties:

• Perform routine chart reviews of clinical records
• Perform non-routine chart reviews to address concerns and inquiries regarding the clinical documentation of specific issues
• Facilitate and perform root cause analyses of sentinel events involving individuals participating in behavioral health or development services programs
• Conduct reviews of clinical documentation related to updates and change in external and internal documentation requirements (e.g., regulatory, insurance related)
• Conduct reviews of clinical documentation related to the implementation of new services to ensure compliance with external and internal standards
• Use electronic record reporting tools and distribute information to supervisors and staff members to help ensure compliance with documentation standards
• Assist in the development and updating of chart review tools to ensure they are consistent with standards and requirements
• Analyze information obtained related to chart reviews; write summary reports and present information to members of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services leadership
• Assist with organizing information to respond to audits
• Assist with investigations as needed
