Neatly Design & Sales Lead Part closer, part builder. The person who leads the sale and shapes the brand. Location: Maryland / Northern Virginia / DC THE OPPORTUNITY Most sales roles ask you to run a system someone else built. This one asks you to help build the system while you run it. Neatly is a home organization brand in active launch. The Design & Sales Lead is the first person in this seat — responsible for generating revenue from day one while simultaneously shaping the product system, refining the consultation process, and building the referral network that makes Neatly scalable. The decisions made in this role over the next 12–24 months define what Neatly becomes. The growth path here is brand leadership — not a bigger territory or a higher commission tier. The right person earns the opportunity to run Neatly. Responsibilities: WHAT THIS ROLE OWNS Design & Sales • Run in-home design consultations with homeowners • Identify whole-home organization opportunities • Design custom storage solutions within Neatly's modular system • Convert consultations into signed projects • Own close rate and project margin targets Brand & Product Building • Document recurring design patterns and configurations • Validate and refine the Neatly product system • Identify what customers ask for that doesn't yet exist • Protect installation repeatability and margin discipline Scope & Production Handoff • Translate designs into buildable project scope • Conduct accurate preliminary measurements • Deliver zero-ambiguity scope to the production team Referral Network Development • Build partnerships with real estate agents, interior designers, and professional organizers • Develop a referral pipeline that reduces dependence on paid leads Qualifications: WHO THRIVES HERE • Has closed consultative in-home sales at $3,000+ per transaction — and can speak to their numbers • Has taken an idea, concept, or improvement from thought to reality in a professional setting • Thinks in systems — asks "how do we do this 100 times?" not just "how do I close this one?" • Comfortable operating before the playbook is finished — sees that as the opportunity, not the obstacle • Walks into a disorganized space and immediately sees the solution — spatial instinct is natural, not learned • Protects margin and product guardrails instinctively — knows custom exceptions are a margin problem • Wants to lead something, not just work within something THIS ROLE IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF • You need a fully built system before you can perform • You optimize for commission volume over margin discipline • You've never sold a project above $3,000 in a consultative, in-home environment • You prefer fully independent work over collaboration with production and leadership • Building something from scratch sounds exhausting rather than energizing Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 yearly
