Cloud Engineer

Position Summary:
Lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of cloud infrastructure to support Client operations. Collaborate across teams to ensure secure, resilient, and optimized cloud environments that meet performance, compliance, and cost goals.
Responsibilities
Lead the architecture and deployment of cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, ensuring scalability, performance, and availability.
Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
Oversee the full cloud lifecycle: design, provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
Implement automation pipelines for CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and security compliance.
Ensure robust cloud security through identity and access management (IAM, RBAC), data encryption, network controls, compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC).
Monitor system health, performance, and cost; use tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or comparable systems.
Lead migration initiatives from on-premise systems to the cloud: assess, design, execute, and validate transitions.
Draft and maintain architectural diagrams, process documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base materials.
Serve as cloud SME: provide guidance, mentorship, and training to Client technical staff.
Evaluate new cloud services, features, and best practices to ensure future-ready infrastructure.
Track cloud utilization, report spending, and propose optimization strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of engineering experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud systems.
Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
Knowledge of modern automation and DevOps processes, including CI/CD.
Strong understanding of cloud security principles and compliance standards.
Experience with performance monitoring, cost management, and incident troubleshooting.
Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and documentation.
Preferred:
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional.
Prior experience leading cloud migration projects or modernization efforts.
Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Docker.
Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud architectures and data migration strategies.
