    Company Description

    Cloud Imperium is looking for a DevOps Engineer to work on our exciting PC space combat sim, Star Citizen! The DevOps Engineer will work in a cooperative, cross-disciplinary team environment to make the deployment and management of Cloud Imperium's game service efficient and durable.

    Position

    • Work closely with engineers from various disciplines to help implement and maintain massively scalable and highly reliable systems.
    • Help monitor and track performance and reliability of our services.
    • Share on-call responsibility with Publishing Operation team members.
    • Document systems and processes.
    • and such other duties and responsibilities assigned by Cloud Imperium Games reasonably consistent with employee's skills and experience.
    • International travel may be required as a part of this role

    Requirements

    • Hands-on experience running GNU/Linux servers in Production environments.
    • Hands-on experience with modern scripting languages against public vendor APIs on GNU/Linux platforms.
    • Hands-on experience with modern Monitoring and Alerting solutions.
    • Hands-on Experience with modern Configuration Management and/or Automation tools.
    • Experience with Version Control Systems.
    • Experience running various workloads on Public Cloud Providers, preferably AWS.
    • Ability to utilize various CLI GNU/Linux resources (CPU, MEM, IO, NET) monitoring tools then interpret and communicate their results in a concise and clear manners.
    • Fundamental understanding of modern Relational Databases, Virtual Networking and Security principles.
    • Maintain Team-first, Continuous Improvement, Clear Communication, Humility, Integrity, and Customer-focused mindsets.

    PLUSES:

    • Experience in Game Publishing and/or HPC shops.
    • Experience working with several remote teams and offices located across different time zones.
    • Experience with Perforce.
    • Experience with Provisioning, Service Discovery and/or Orchestration tools.
    • Fundamental understanding of Cloud Design Patterns and Best Practices.
    • Fundamental understanding of Service-oriented Architectures, Container-based Deployment and/or Microservices concepts.
    • Fundamental understanding of NoSQL Database concepts and limitations.
    • Familiarity with Distributed In-memory Data Stores, Real-Time Streaming Data Pipelines and/or Distributed Search Analytics Engine solutions.
    • Advanced understanding of Networking and or Security principles.
    • Experience working with several remote teams and offices located across different time zones.
    • AWS and/or GNU/Linux recent certifications.
