    Cloud Imperium Games is looking for a talented IT Network Engineer to join our Austin, Studio team!

    The IT Network Engineer at Cloud Imperium Games is responsible for the daily performance, maintenance, and availability of the organization's network infrastructure.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have 5 years of experience in the IT Networking sector. The job demands a sound understanding of wired and wireless networking, general IT functions, and the security operations related to data networks.

    Tasks are subject to evolve as this team grows and as business demands change.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Deploy, and maintain a robust LAN and WAN infrastructure
    • Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
    • Monitor network performance and integrity
    • Respond to and address network alerts
    • Mentor team members on technical issues
    • Maintain complete technical documentation
    • and other such duties and responsibilities assigned by Cloud Imperium reasonably consistent with the employee's skills and experience

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • At least 5 years of experience as an IT Network Engineer or equivalent
    • Solid background in network administration and architecture, including datacenter infrastructures
    • Experience analyzing network traffic for optimization and security-related events
    • In-depth understanding of communication and routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
    • Knowledge of Python scripting language for automation
    • Proficiency with Cisco IOS network operating system
    • International travel may be required as a part of this role

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Detailed knowledge of firewall concepts, computer/network security, VPNs, proxy, and load balancing
    • Windows OS, Linux OS, and VMware virtualization
    • Cisco and Meraki network equipment
    • Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Office 365

    PLUSES:

    • Professional certification (CCNP, VMware or equivalent)
    • Experience in game publishing
    • Passion for sci-fi games and space simulations
    • Proficiency with Jira & Confluence
