Job Description

This mid/sr. cloud engineer works with the architecture team to implement the cloud native and third party cloud management solutions to manage the Cloud workloads and applications. The cloud engineer works with the development teams to establish the automated deployment of applications to run on the highly available and scalable cloud native platforms. He/she delivers solutions based on the industry best practices on the performance, security, and resiliency. This position/role provides software, system troubleshooting, technical support and guidance to less-experienced technicians. The cloud engineer will be responsible for any technological duties associated with cloud computing, including planning, management, maintenance and support. In this position the individual will need to be a self-starter and with the ability to solve complex problems under minimal supervision. Qualifications:  BS/BA Degree - preferably in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field or equivalent  5+ years of experience in cloud engineering  5+ years of experience with one of the following cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (preferably GCP)  Deploying and managing the following cloud services areas – compute engine/VM instances, database, storage, networking, IAM, compliance, ML, Big Data/analytics  7+ years of experience with basic Unix/Linux operation system administration and shell scripting  Experience with Agile/Scrum lifecycle management/development  Familiar with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence  Experience developing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform  Python and Bash scripting is a plus  Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment  Strong written and oral communication skills with experience delivering/presenting to customer  Ability to comprehend and explain complex information simply and accurately

Responsibilities:  Write code, building infrastructure as code, work with immutable “cloud native” based environments, build the supporting automated toolsets to test and deploy systems developed  Design and develop containerized platform at scale (Kubernetes/OpenShift)  Maintain services (and supporting cloud infrastructure) once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health  Work with our engineering and infrastructure teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the program  Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle  Use exceptional problem-solving skills  Design and implement cloud-based platforms, preferably GCP, throughout the program  Assist with identifying and supporting external dependencies where needed
