    Club Capital Tax Division

    The Tax Division is responsible for the tax planning, preparation and filing of individual and company tax returns exclusively for Club Capital Clients.

    We ensure our clients can ditch the tax season stress, forever. Tax planning and strategy should be done throughout the year to plan proactively instead of always looking retroactively. We’re a startup within a startup; a small but mighty team working cross-functionally within Club Capital.

    Overview of Position:

    As a Sr Tax Accountant at Club Capital you will manage a team of staff accountant(s) to ensure timely and accurate delivery of taxes within your client portfolio. This position requires solid technical knowledge of both personal and business tax returns, and the ability to work with a minimum of assistance, making decisions on all but the most unusual matters. The Sr Tax Accountant will lead and instruct staff accountants in the work to be performed, review work, and direct revisions.

    Responsibilities:

    Client Engagement

    Ability to engage with clients to discuss their tax situation, options for tax savings and optimization, tax season preparation, and the ultimate delivery of the client’s tax return(s). Support Club Capital’s endeavor to provide broad tax advisory to all clients.

    Handles ongoing consultation and planning with their clients

    Ensures that each client is prepared for tax season and taking actions on areas where they can optimize their tax returns

    Manages the scheduling of tax planning check-ins with clients

    Ensures that their respective team members are executing on the work required to ensure the above are met

    Tax Compliance

    Own the completeness, accuracy, and tax optimization of the returns prepared for your clients.

    Scope out the work required to complete the tax return(s)

    Review and approve the returns prepared by the members of your team

    Adjust, where required, any representations on the tax return

    Identify and mitigate tax risks

    Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance

    Mentorship & Training: You should have the ability and interest in building up the team around you. Ability to coach, train, and assist in mentoring less experienced staff.

    Ability to manage a high volume of clients with poise

    Expected Client Portfolio

    It would be expected that your clients assigned to you and under management should be no less than 130 clients and not to exceed 150 clients for a given tax season. For this purpose, you will be provided the appropriate tax preparation resource(s) directly as a part of your team.

    Requirements:

    Active/valid certified public accountant’s (CPA) license or enrolled agent (EA) is highly desirable

    Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Tax Accountant reviewing business tax filings

    Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns

    Experience with 990 tax preparation is highly preferred

    Knowledge of tax software and MS Office

    Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems

    Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships

    Strong leadership and personnel management skills

    Analytical skills with detail orientation

    BS in Accounting or MS in Taxation

    Salary: Competitive. Individuals are compensated commensurate with experience and productivity. All positions have both a fixed salary and a variable performance bonus tied to timely filing of client portfolio.
