    Position Summary: Engage individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness in the daily work of a rehabilitation unit using the Clubhouse Model. Assumes a generalist role focused on individualized case management, advocacy, employment, housing, education, outreach, and social opportunities. An intricate part to the Staff Generalist role is engaging members in all aspects of Clubhouse operations. The participation of members and staff is performed side by side to focus on the members' strengths, skills, and interests. Staff offer a positive, supportive relationship that helps to build members' self-esteem and encourage working toward identified goals, wellness, and recovery. Essential Job Functions: - Works side-by-side with members, conveying a sense of urgency, to foster a sense of teamwork so as to increase skill development and completion of unit-based tasks. - Make Clubhouse activities and tasks accessible, systematic, and plan and coordinate work to meet the needs of the Clubhouse and its members. - Carries and maintains a caseload of individuals requiring adequate encouragement, goal-planning, assessment, documentation, and completion of weekly progress notes. - Keep member records up to date, obtaining required signatures annually and when needed. - Participates in all Clubhouse meetings, using the standards as a guide in decision making processes. Encouraging members to take leadership roles and peer-to-peer relationships and interaction among members. - Participate in unit meetings twice daily, and weekly House Meeting and encouraging others to do the same. - Models appropriate attitudes, behavior, and dress standards within the Clubhouse work and social settings. - Actively ensures that members' strengths and skills are being recognized, and then utilized, in order to promote their self-efficiency, as well as the direction of the Clubhouse. - Advocate for individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness by disseminating information promoting change, and by attending forums that further the vision of Club Nova Community, Inc. - Works to encourage and support member employment by skill-based unit engagement, transitional and independent employment. - Participate in the Clubhouse's Transitional Employment Program (TE), paid jobs for Members in the community. Manage TE placements by learning the job; developing work relationships, training and supporting members on the job. As staff, a priority is to provide TE job coverage whenever necessary. - Takes initiative to explore, find, and assist members in acquiring decent housing, whether it is a group home, an independent residence, or some other situation. - When needed, advocate, direct and model communication between members and service providers. - Support individual educational goals and aspirations by providing the necessary information and assistance. - Consistently strives to reach out to members that may be isolating due to the nature of their mental illness to encourage and support member participation and attendance at the Clubhouse. - Increase member participation in social-based activities within, and outside of the clubhouse, which may require transporting individuals. - Participates in Clubhouse marketing, public relations, and advocacy efforts. - Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual's and program's needs. Occasional weekends, evenings and holiday hours will be required. Essential Job Requirements: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree or higher required; preferably in human services field. REQUIRED SKILLS: Maintaining a positive tone at all times and in difficult situations. Has the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively. Has excellent writing and/or editing skills. Adheres to deadlines, handles crises accordingly, can drive a large passenger van, and is proficient in basic Microsoft applications. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous clubhouse training such as: the Two or Three-Week Colleague Training at a Certified Training Base, work at another Clubhouse Model program, and/or general experience working with individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
