Clubhouse Manager- Events Director
Position Overview:
Sky Valley Country Club, a scenic private club in the North Georgia Mountains, is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on hospitality leader to manage all facets of clubhouse operations, including food and beverage service, event planning and execution, and member engagement. This leadership role is key to maintaining the club’s reputation for outstanding service and delivering a warm, welcoming environment to our members, guests, and community partners.
This position requires a well-rounded professional with strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, capable of simultaneously managing high-level operational strategy and day-to-day service details.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Clubhouse Operations:
Oversee all clubhouse facilities including main dining areas, Turn Snack Bar, 19th Hole, & outdoor patios.
Supervise the daily opening and closing procedures of the clubhouse, ensuring security, cleanliness, and readiness for service.
Conduct regular inspections of clubhouse facilities and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed in collaboration with property operations.
Establish and maintain exceptional service standards and ensure all team members consistently exceed members’ expectations.
Manage vendor and contractor relationships related to clubhouse operations (cleaning, linen services, repairs, etc.).
Food & Beverage Management:
Oversee all dining operations including main clubhouse service, 19th Hole, the Turn Snack Bar and private banquets or club events.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to plan menus, seasonal offerings, wine selections, and special dining experiences.
Develop and maintain SOPs for service delivery, banquet setups, and beverage service aligned with upscale club standards.
Monitor and control inventory, conduct monthly F&B audits, and track cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure profitability.
Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health codes, liquor licensing, and employee certifications.
Maintain and train on the POS system; ensure accurate sales reporting, tip tracking, and reconciliations.
Staff Leadership & Team Development:
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all front-of-house F&B and event staff including servers, bartenders, hosts, and event support.
Implement staff development programs including service training and or wine education.
Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional hospitality service.
Event Planning & Execution:
Lead the planning, promotion, and execution of all club events including golf tournaments, weddings, holiday parties, member mixers, and private rentals.
Serve as the main point of contact for members and guests booking private events, ensuring a seamless experience from concept to completion.
Coordinate all event logistics including room setup, AV (microphone) needs, F&B planning, staffing, timing, and post-event breakdown.
Develop detailed event plans and budgets, monitor expenses, and analyze event ROI.
Maintain a master calendar of club and private events in coordination with the Administration department.
· Foster strong communication and collaboration between the clubhouse, food & beverage team, and the golf shop to ensure seamless execution of golf tournaments, group outings, and club-wide functions.
· Work closely with the Head Golf Professional and Golf Operations team to align event timelines, coordinate player dining experiences, and deliver exceptional service throughout every touchpoint of a member or guest’s visit.
Member & Guest Engagement:
Build strong relationships with club members, becoming a visible and accessible leader in the clubhouse.
Assist with onboarding and orienting new members, introducing them to club amenities, services, and events.
Partner with the General Manager and Clubhouse Committee to create innovative programming and enhance overall member satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in private clubs, resorts, or high-end hospitality venues.
Proven success in managing food & beverage operations, banquet planning, and customer service in a team environment.
Deep understanding of private club service standards, member engagement, and event operations.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, inventory control, labor scheduling, and vendor negotiation.
