    Job title: Field Engineer

    Location: Greater San Francisco Area

    Job overview (please don’t share customer names):

    • Support Verizon and AT&T doing site surveys working in COs/cell sites. Also helping with documentation, doing MOPs.
    • Assist Installation when desk work not available
    • Travel in local area may travel to Southern CA, AZ, NM possibly El Paso, TX. Needs to be comfortable with staying overnight at times. Must be willing to work nights right now during COVID-19.
    • Must be independent, self-motivated, comfortable working on own as will have limited face to face interaction.
    • Ability to work with the customer, good communication skills, professionalism
    • Computer skills
    • Pay rate: targeting $27-$29.50/hr (matches our pay band but may consider higher based on skills)

    Live ANYWHERE in the Northern half of CA ----> This position will cover the great San Francisco and Northern California region, so the work location can be in any of these areas. Working on the remote job sites, specified office location.

    The Field Engineer performs work that ranges from basic circuit design to strategic mass developments in Telecommunication central office environments. The Field Engineer acts as a company engineering representative at the base of remote locations, including customer and supplier facilities.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct site surveys and facilitate engineering requirement gathering with customers
    • Interpret and communicate customer engineering standards to internal project stakeholders
    • Facilitate discussion and resolution of issues relating to engineering standards
    • Partner with internal resources to identify parts and pricing for equipment related to installation projects
    • Prepare, process and submit RFQs to customers via the customer submission process
    • Comply to Telamon internal processes and procedures

    Managerial Responsibility

    • No direct reports

    Travel/Shift Requirements

    • Travel away from home for several weeks may be required on demand
    • Ability to travel 80% of the time

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs
    • Ability to work outdoors, on ladders, and in confined spaces
    • Ability to work with/around electrical wires and/or ESD products
    • Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites

    Skills and Abilities Required

    • Working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the telecommunications installation field (e.g. AC and DC power setup, DWDM Optical networking (preferred), IP routing and switching equipment, enterprise or carrier wireless equipment installation, etc.)
    • Ability to learn and adapt to changing technologies, standards, and certification requirements
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Proficiency with MS Office

    Education and Experience Required

    • High school diploma or GED
    • 4+ years of experience with Installation standards
