Job Summary:
The role of a IT Director involves managing the day-to-day operations of a company's IT systems, as well as planning and implementing strategic IT initiatives. The IT Director is responsible for ensuring that the company's IT infrastructure is reliable, secure, and efficient.
Key responsibilities of an IT Director:
Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the company's hardware, software, and network systems.
Managing and supervising a team of systems administrators, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the company's data.
Monitoring system performance and identifying and resolving issues proactively.
Ensuring that all IT systems and applications are up to date and compliant with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Collaborating with other departments to understand their IT needs and developing solutions to meet those needs.
Managing and maintaining relationships with vendors and other external partners to ensure that the company's IT systems are functioning effectively.
Developing and managing IT budgets and allocating resources as needed.
Keeping up to date with the latest developments in IT infrastructure and recommending new technologies and strategies to improve the company's IT systems.
Ensuring that all users have the necessary access and permissions to use IT systems and applications.
Troubleshoot issues and outages
Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
Manage and monitor Office 365 services and desktop support
Formulate and create Office 365 SharePoint sites for domain users and external client access
Administer and support Office 365 Azure and Exchange policies
Maintain a highly secure system through proper configuration and system access monitoring
Assist with the migration of data into the Office 365 cloud platform and Office 365 SharePoint
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with user access to cloud services
Administer and support system backup and disaster recovery processes
Maintain inventory of equipment and software licenses.
Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
Debugging code and front-end web applications
Troubleshooting application errors
Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits
Upgrade our network and infrastructure systems
Implement and maintain security controls
Identify and solve potential and actual security problems
Assess the current situation, evaluating trends and anticipating security requirements
Keep users informed by preparing performance reports; communicating system status
Maintain quality service by following organization standards
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in a related field, as well as several years of experience working in IT systems
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are also essential for this role. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of networking protocols, database management, and system security.
Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
Ability to create scripts
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
Excellent communication skills
Office 365 administration experience
Experience with Azure AD and Exchange
Office 365 SharePoint Administrator experience
Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems
Ability to manage conflict effectively
Ability to adapt and be productive in a dynamic environment
Self-starter, self-managed, and a team player
Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions
Proficiency with antivirus and security software
