  • Responsibilities

    Transportation services driver position is responsible for the transportation of CCHC patients to and from their scheduled appointments in either our Bandon or Port Orford locations. The driver’s route cover from transportation needs from Coos Bay/North Bend OR to the Brookings, OR to Gold Beach, OR area via HWY 101. The transportation services driver will transport non – medically frail patients via the Health Centers transport van.

    The Transportation services position participates with the Health Care Team in delivering quality and customer focused services to patients in a manner that reflects Coast Community Health Center’s mission, vision, and values.

    CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip

    Pick up clients from their location and at the time they’ve requested

    Assist clients with loading and unloading, may include wheelchairs, walkers, etc.

    Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions

    Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed

    Answer clients’ questions about the area and other questions

    Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders

    Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues

    Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the transportation van

    Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points

    SUPPORTING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Coordinates, implements, and leads the patient transportation strategy daily ensuring the safe operations of the patient transportation system.

    Picks up and delivers required items, maintains logs of all calls, and conducts vehicle safety inspection and maintenance.

    Maintains and adheres to department and position quality and productivity standards. Ensures safe handling of materials and general public when operating transportation.

    Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES):

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred

    Valid Oregon Driver’s License.

    Provide proof of current automobile insurance

    Driving record must meet CCHC safety policies and guidelines.

    CPR certification required

    Requires passing drug test

    Must have the ability to have a positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations

    Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision;
