    The Environmental Services (EVS) Technician provides a safe and comfortable healing environment for our patients by ensuring clean, sanitary, and attractive facilities. The EVS Technician follow standard precautions and established procedures for the safe use of cleaning chemicals and safe disposal of biohazardous waste. Full PPE is provided for all EVS staff to ensure personal safety and consistent with OSHA and other regulatory bodies. This position is part-time employment working 20-25 hours a week.CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Core Responsibilities:

    · Cleans and dusts lobby and exam room furniture, desks, cabinets, and countertops following safety protocols for infection control procedures.

    · Cleans wall surfaces, baseboards, floor surfaces, doors following safety protocols for infection control procedures

    · Cleans, disinfects, and sanitizes bathrooms following safety protocols for infection control procedures.

    · Vacuums and mops all designated floors with appropriate equipment and cleaning supplies.

    · Refills disposable supplies such as towels, soap, and toilet paper at designated areas.

    · Empties and cleans waste receptacles. Disposes of trash and biohazard waste appropriately.

    · Selects proper cleaning materials and supplies to complete daily tasks.

    · Read, interprets, and follows material Safety Data Sheets and chemical/cleaning product directions for use along with warning/precaution information.

    · Monitors quality, reports repair/maintenance needs, and inspects own work daily.

    · Completes all special cleaning assignments as assigned and/or necessary.

    · Cleans and organizes the EVS area and keeps clear of clutter.

    · Cleans windows of lobby, rooms, and glass doors.

    · Responsible for removal of cardboard boxes.

    · Cleans staff kitchen.

    | QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES):

    Work Experience: Experience in custodial work in a hospital/clinic setting preferred; ability to learn methods of cleaning and caring for clinic facilities

    Education, Training, Certification and Licensure: High school diploma or GED

    Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Ability to learn methods of cleaning and caring for clinic facilities; ability to follow written instructions on labels for proper and safe use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment; ability to communicate effectively; flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities; reliable transportation.
