    The Transportation Services Specialist is responsible for the transportation of CCHC patients to and from their scheduled appointments in either our Bandon or Port Orford locations and the safe and accurate delivery of prescriptions to CCHC pharmacy customers. The driver’s route will coordinate both the delivery of prescriptions and supply the transportation needs from Coos Bay/North Bend OR to the Brookings, OR to Gold Beach, OR area via HWY 101. The Transportation Services Specialist will transport non – medically frail patients via the Health Center’s transport van.

    The Transportation Services Specialist position participates with the Health Care and Pharmacy Team in delivering quality and customer focused services to patients in a manner that reflects Coast Community Health Center’s mission, vision, and values. As a member of CCHC, you will deliver excellent customer service and positively impact the lives of others in the community.

    | CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Transportation Services Specialist – Patient Transport

    · Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip.

    · Pick up clients from their location and at the time they’ve requested.

    · Assist clients with loading and unloading, may include wheelchairs, walkers, etc.

    · Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions

    · Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed.

    · Answer clients’ questions about the area and other questions.

    · Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders.

    · Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues.

    · Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the transportation van.

    · Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.

    Transportation Services Specialist – Pharmacy Delivery

    · Will act as a liaison between the facility staff and our pharmacy, delivering medications with a strong sense of urgency directly to that patient’s home.

    · Safe driving and operation of delivery vehicle to deliver/pick up prescriptions to patient’s home or place of business.

    · Plans delivery route to maximize efficiency and productivity for the day.

    · Coordinates paperwork and payment with the customer, as required for no cash change.

    · Returns to the pharmacy with proper co-pays and delivery signatures.

    · Calls 911 in the event of an emergency at patient’s home or other location.

    | SUPPORTING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Coordinates, implements, and leads the patient transportation strategy daily ensuring the safe operations of the patient transportation system.

    · Picks up and delivers required items, maintains logs of all calls, and conducts vehicle safety inspection and maintenance.

    · Maintains and adheres to department and position quality and productivity standards. Ensures safe handling of materials and general public when operating transportation.

    · Ensures compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.

    · Other duties as assigned may include general maintenance tasks such as painting, trash removal from facilities, janitorial duties etc.

    | QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES):

    · High School diploma or equivalent preferred

    · Valid Oregon Driver’s License.

    · Provide proof of current automobile insurance.

    · Driving record must meet CCHC safety policies and guidelines.

    · Requires passing drug test

    · Must have the ability to have a positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations

    · Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal

    · supervision;
