    Why We're Here

Coastal Consulting started when one woman decided enough was enough after new senior leadership expressed clear disdain for women and offered materials such as this book when informing women they wouldn't be promoted under him. If this story raised your blood pressure, you're off to a great start.

As marketers turned marketing automation nerds, we're focused on helping B2B Enterprise organizations develop processes, implement thoughtful automation, and personalize communications at scale leveraging HubSpot. We're a certified HubSpot Solutions Partner agency & we're focused on cutting through the bull shit and providing clients with practical, simple solutions focused on their unique goals and growth trajectories.

    Why We Need You

We believe that we can do anything, but there are only so many hours in the day ya know. We're a scrappy team of two full-time HubSpot specialists with an intern supporting our admin tasks. Because we have a unique position in the marketplace, we're attracting quality clients rapidly and will soon outgrow our bandwidth. So while we could work 60+ hour weeks, we'd rather bring you on and not lose our minds.

You're Off To a Good Start If You Know How To...

    • Explain what HubSpot can do for a company
    • Build HubSpot workflows
    • Add Smart Content to a HubSpot email
    • Build a report in HubSpot
    • Create a new property in HubSpot
    • Meet reasonable deadlines
    • Communicate effectively (i.e. respond to client emails within 1 business day, send messages on Slack)
    • Speak your mind
    • Bonus points if you're familiar with Salesforce

    Job Description (oh, formalities)

The HubSpot Consultant will work directly with Coastal Consulting clients as a blend of an Account Manager and technical specialist. You'll be the primary point of contact for clients and their main problem-solver for all things HubSpot.

    • Solve client challenges using HubSpot, acting as the expert to lead their team in the right direction
    • Provide direction to clients on how to maximize their HubSpot account
    • Complete HubSpot account audits for clients and identify gaps and compile recommendations
    • Lead discovery calls with clients to understand business objectives, pain points, and their definition of success for our engagement
    • Leverage Asana to plan, document, and track work needed for client engagements
    • Determine client needs for reporting and build needed reports for clients in HubSpot
    • Continue marketing automation education through earning HubSpot and Salesforce certifications
    • Create content for the company blog based on unique approaches to building solutions, industry knowledge, or other relevant topics
    • Aid in lead and demand generation efforts as the business requires
    • Have the opportunity to work in Salesforce for clients leveraging HubSpot + Salesforce. On-the-job training will be provided for this work.
    • Interface with and complete work for a diverse group of clients

We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates, so please don't hesitate to apply — we'd love to hear from you.

    How We're Hiring

The job application process is boring, ineffective, and biased. There, we said it.

We left the jobs we've had in the past because we're tired of being part of a broken system. Now that we're looking to grow, we're not going to rebuild a version of the system we hated. Rather, we're starting something new and hoping for the best! Here's a look at the interview process for this position.

    1. SUBMIT THE APPLICATION FORM, but skip the resume. We won't be asking for a detailed list of your employment history. Instead, we'll do a quick skills inventory so you can self-assess if this position is a fit.
    2. SCHEDULE A CALL. We're a fit-focused organization. So, before we get into the nitty-gritty, let's get to know each other. If you think you're a good fit for this position, we trust your judgment and look forward to chatting. If you're not a fit but love the culture, follow us on LinkedIn to keep an eye on future postings that may be for you.
    3. COMPLETE A SKILLS ASSESSMENT. If we're vibing, we'll send a skills assessment containing real questions we've answered for our clients. Answer to the best of your ability (this is a closed-browser assessment, please refrain from Googling), and we'll see how client-ready you are! Keep in mind - lifelong learning is part of our culture. We would much rather you share that you don't know the answer but are willing to learn than fake it.
    4. PROVIDE PEER REFERENCES. How much does your previous employer really know about you? Your past managers can tell us if you met deadlines, followed instructions, and pleased management. But, we're not really looking for an order taker. We want to hear from a few of your past coworkers. What did you bring to the team? How did you support them? How did you manage disagreements with your boss? We want to know! Bonus points if you were pushed out of your organization because your ideas outshined those of your boss.
    5. FINALIZE THE PAPERWORK. Now that we've found the perfect fit and the right skills (or the determination to learn them), we're ready to welcome you to the team.

This position is remote and open to all US-based applicants, but residence in North Carolina or Washington is preferred. Successful applicants will be asked to show proof that they can legally work in the US. A background check will be required prior to acceptance of employment.
