    This position is a paid internship/co-op for a college student currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration or other related field.  The duration of this internship is expected to be between 3-6 months, beginning in June 2020 with the possibility for extension based on business need.  This position will provide entry level support to the Mueller Water Products corporate Engineering department. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY.   

     

    Internship work and experiences may include any of the below mentioned tasks. Other duties may be assigned as well based on business need or learning opportunities

    • Assist with the design and development of dashboards, reports, and other BI products as assigned by business partners and senior BI team members.
    • Participate in the following activities: Communication of decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding operating unit requests and projects and initiatives.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new or revised dashboards, including working on legacy dashboards for migration to the strategic business intelligence toolset
    • Perform Ad-Hoc Reporting and troubleshooting when dashboards, data models, and analytic solutions are not operational and follow through on resolution and root cause.
    • Research, evaluate, monitor and recommend emerging technology and leads investigation and adaptation of beneficial data technologies.

     

    Required Experience:

    • Currently enrolled in or graduate of a degree program in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration or other related field.
    • Strong interest in data analytics and solving problems with data.
    • Experience analyzing large data sets using SQL, spreadsheet software, or other technologies
