    This position is a paid internship/co-op for a college student currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other related field. The duration of this internship is expected to be between 3-6 months beginning in June 2020, with the possibility for extension based on business need.  This position will provide entry level support to the Mueller Water Products corporate Finance department and its user community. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY.

     

    Internship work and experiences may include any of the below mentioned tasks. Other duties may be assigned as well based on business need or learning opportunities

    • Participate in forecast, monthly/quarterly business reporting, variance analysis, and month-end close activities for the organizations they support
    • Work through cross-functional relationships within the organization and facilitate communication between the functions within finance to ensure accurate and predictive financial information is communicated throughout the organization
    • Understand key business unit operating metrics/drivers and measure performance to established metrics
    • Responsible for forecast accuracy and monitoring countermeasures
    • Assist in the development of annual operating plans and long-range plans and capital planning processes
    • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required

     

    Required Experience:

    • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related area.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Well organized with good time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Industrial Relations, Business Management, or related.

    • Excellent communication skills with professional decorum, oral and written.

    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.

    • End-user expertise with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

    • Strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to serve others.

    • Ability to manage various tasks concurrently and effectively.

    • Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results.

    • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

    • 2 - 5 years of experience as a Generalist or other function within HR.
