  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs system monitoring and analysis support for the detection of cyber incidents and provides recommendations on how to correct findings. Act as the COLSA Bounty Hunter Information System Security Officer (ISSO). Perform Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities throughout the life-cycle process.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

    • Monitors the network and supporting systems to detect security compromise events (including intrusions and virus incidents). *
    • Identifies where systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.*
    • Conducts audits to ensure information systems security policies and procedures are implemented as defined in security plans and best practices. *
    • Performs passive evaluations (compliance audits) and/or active evaluations (vulnerability assessments).*
    • Supports formal testing requirements through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.*
    • Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.
    • Participates in response teams to ensure any anomalies are corrected in accordance with government or industry standards.
    • Managing and remediating weaknesses uncovered as a result of an assessment through continuous monitoring and creating Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) when required
    • Document Preparation, including, but not limited to:
    1. System Security Plan (SSP)
    2. Systems Administrator Guide (SAG)
    3. Contingency and Business Continuity Plan (CBCP)
    4. Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP)
    5. Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
    6. Incident Response Plan (IRP)
    7. Configuration Management Plan (CMP)
    8. Connection Approval Process (CAP) Packages

    Required Skills Required Experience

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred.

    • Minimum of 10 years of work-related experience.

    • DoD 8570.01-Manual IAT Level III Certification required.

    • Knowledgeable in the areas of: real-time security situational awareness, operational network systems, and security monitoring.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Minimum of Top Secret/ Clearance with SCI eligibility security clearance

    • Experience with the NIST 800-series Special Pubs

    • Experience obtaining DAA/AO Authority to Connect (ATC) and Authorizations to Operate (ATO)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)

    • Experience working with Demilitarized Zones

    • Experience with DoD Unified Capability Approved Products List
