  • Responsibilities

    This position provides support to the 45 Test Squadron – Space and Intel Flight at Eglin AFB.  This position will be located at Peterson AFB, CO (Colorado Springs).  This support includes the following:

     

    • Provides technical leadership and frequently serves as the final technical authority for the BMEWS/Pave Paws mission systems, Space Directed Energy Confliction (DECON), and other Space Command and Control (C2) systems, encompassing the whole Space Situational Awareness (SSA) portfolio, such as Space Fence, Space Surveillance Telescope (SST), Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN), Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR), Cobra Dane, PARCS, among others.
    • Conducts data analysis and applies knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff. These tasks include test and evaluation, test support, operations analyses, technical studies, and various analyses and support activities including program and system security.
    • Assists in the development of system requirements, performance measures, test phase entry & exit criteria, and analysis of test design constraints functional capabilities, and metrics.
    • Supports Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test (OT), Force Development Evaluation (FDE), Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) and certification for test readiness; identifies deficiencies, verifies compliance with specifications and standards, and assesses stability of various system configurations.
    • Supports senior engineers when interacting with System Program Offices, other services, and developmental contractors.
    • Prepares, executes, reviews, and analyzes test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develops and writes methods of tests, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), test cases, test objectives & procedures, test directives, technical or letter reports, analysis and review of requirements, and other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.
    • Coordinates schedules, pre-and post-test activities, logistics of test planning, and test reports.
    • Travels up to 30% of time to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations both OCONUS and CONUS.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COMBINATIONS IS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience is required -OR- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline and 7 years of technical experience -OR- HS Diploma or Equivalent and 9 years technical experience.

    • Relevant technical experience in one of the following fields: space operations, astrodynamics, space sensors, service oriented architecture software, testing.
    • Ability to interface with prime contractors developing the system under test (SUT) regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
    • Effective oral and written communications skills.
    • Proficiency in the use and integration of MS Office applications.
    • A current and active Secret Security clearance required. Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience with BMEWS/Pave Paws mission systems, UEWR, PARCS, Cobra Dane, Combatant Commanders Integrated Command and Control System (CCIC2S), and the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) mission.
    • Experience with MATLAB and/or other data visualization and computational tools.
    • Knowledge of, or experience with Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) or other DoD operational test agency concepts, procedures and methodologies. Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Fortran, Java, Python, C/C++), or with software development, most notably service-oriented architecture or web services and computer network protocols.
    • Experience related to DOD C4ISR system acquisition, systems engineering, and test engineering.
    • Experience interfacing with development contractors regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:

    • U.S. citizen or Mexican National with local vetting
    • Demonstrated excellent judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills used to make appropriate decisions to recognize and prioritize critical patients and to manage all aspects of the emergency scene independently.
    • Thorough knowledge of Paramedic/Emergency Response protocols, including knowledge of safe and therapeutic administration of drugs, and the proven ability to apply this knowledge in a practical sense.
    • Displays excellent leadership and communication skills to direct other team members to assist as needed.
    • Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program.
    • Have prior law enforcement Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), operational and instructional experience at the state and/or federal police level: either as active military/police/firefighting members.
    • Certified skill sets and teaching experience in Emergency First Aid-First Responder training as related to police courses.
    • Firsthand medical experience as First Responders.
    • Preferably if the instructors have taught the course in prior occasions to other Latin American law enforcement Institutions.
    • Instructors must have Professional law enforcement experience and international police experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to improvise, adapt, and persevere in a fluid environment, and under challenging circumstances
    • Instructors shall possess a 4/4 for Spanish.
