The Custodial position is responsible for the cleanliness and well-being of the Child Development Center. The Custodian is the first line of defense against the spread of disease through the effective removal of germs and bacteria.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain all window glass surfaces both interior and exterior
- Disinfect all restrooms and surfaces accessible by children
- Maintain all railings, sidelights, and doors
- Maintain all interior flooring, walls, and partitions
- Maintain all additional rugs, carpets, and floor mats
- Maintain all sinks, countertops, and water coolers
- Maintain classrooms, common areas, offices, and restrooms
- Remove all trash and recyclables
- Respond to calls for cleanup such as spills, bio-hazard (toilet overflows, etc), and sanitization
- Restock/Resupply all cleaning products, and notify Program Manager of replenishment needs
- Restock/Resupply all hygiene products
- Remove any safety hazards that result from spills, leaks, mud, snow, wind, or other exterior condition
- Identify and remove any conditions that can produce mold, mildew or other toxins
- Remove all litter, leaves, and debris from playground area, entryways, and parking area
- Strip, wax, and buff tile floors as needed
- Shampoo carpets as needed
Required Skills
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Must pass background check
- Must demonstrate knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, and infectious disease prevention
- Must be willing to obtain all necessary boosters, vaccinations, and immunizations
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the storage and disposal of chemical cleaners, solvents, and compounds
- Must be able to lift and move up to 30 lbs
