GENERAL SUMMARY

COLSA Corporation is seeking an entry level Ground Systems Controller (Systems Analyst 1).  This candidate will work in a control room environment to provide ground system support services for the International Space Station Payload Operations Center, Space Launch System Engineering Support Center, and other NASA programs.  The Ground Systems Controller is responsible for configuring, monitoring, and recovering critical ground systems services required to support Space Station scientists and payload developers world-wide.  Critical services include telemetry receipt, routing and archival, payload commanding, voice/video distribution, and configuration management systems.  Operations are conducted 365x24x7.  THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO WORK ALL SHIFTS (11 P.M. TO 7 A.M., 7 A.M. TO 3 P.M., AND 3 P.M. TO 11 P.M.). THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS THAT FALL DURING HER/HIS SCHEDULED WORK WEEK.

Required Skills Required Experience

• Must have an Associate's degree or equivalent related experience (4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree)

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance (US Citizenship is required)

• Must have working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs required

• The individual selected must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays (40 hours per week)

• Must have excellent writing and speaking skills

• Must be able to complete a long-term goal in a timely manner; the candidate will undergo an intense and rigorous training program and must successfully complete the program in order retain their position and become console certified

• Must be able to work well in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field preferred

• Experience that demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure

• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Microsoft command line functions preferred

• Previous experience working in a help desk call center, computer systems maintenance, plant operations, etc. preferred

• An interest in NASA and the space program

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proficiency in VMWare and Windows environment.
• Required to have and maintain a current DoD IAT II Certification.
• Capable of performing all duties with little to no supervision.
• Provide the status of assigned tasks via both prepared and ad hoc oral briefings to project manager.
• Knowledgeable and can direct system compliance and requirements.
• Decompose system specifications to determine operational requirements and work with information systems security engineers, developers, and other security personnel to develop management and operational procedures, when required, to meet those requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must have a minimum of four plus (4+) years within the last 8 years of Navy C41(S) experience.
• Must have three plus (3+) years of recent experience in a DoD environment.
• Must have certifications compliant with DoD 8570.01, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program
• Must be able to obtain & maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
