    ASC MEDICAL OFFICE MANAGER

    SUMMARY OF POSITION

    ·         Overall supervisor and director business office team members.

    ·         Evaluate Business Office staff job performance, counsel and discipline as necessary.

    ·         Ensures Business Office staff is cross-trained as necessary to ensure all responsibilities can be fulfilled at all times.

    ·         Research and communicate all significant industry changes that impact the ASC.

    ·         Identifies/implements any new technology as needed.

    ·         Perform routine payroll duties.

    ·         Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Center's policies and procedures, credentialing plan and bylaws, and the accreditation/credentialing standards established by the current accreditation organization.

    ·         Responsible for end of month reconciliation.

    ·         Responsible for bank deposits and refunds.

    ·         Responsible for Nextgen system support and File Maintenance Management.

    ·         Responsible for generating claims, patient statements, refund approval, work claim edits.

    ·         Responsible for calculating self-pay patient quotes in accordance with center policies.

    ·         Initiate and maintain the business office policies and procedures.

    ·         Responsible for the accurate interpretation and implementation of the terms with third-party payer contracts.

    ·         Maintains an understanding of cost and profit for cases performed.

    ·         Research and comply with all specific specialty payer guidelines.

    ·         Generate reports as requested.

    ·         Attend meetings as required.

    ·         Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·         At least three years of prior supervision experience.

    ·         At least two years of prior billing experience, preferably ASC experience.

    ·         Maintains thorough understanding of the requirements of Medicare, WC and third party payers as related to ASC reimbursement.

    ·         Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical experience.

    ·         Maintains BLS certification.
