    Job Description

    CoastView Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full time or part time experienced veterinary receptionist as we expand our growing clientele.  It is vital that all applicants have prior veterinary experience, as this position requires a large base of veterinary knowledge.

    Our mission is to provide exceptional, compassionate, low stress, and convenient care to our patients as well as clear and honest communication to their owners. Our entire staff is Fear Free Certified with the goal of helping every animal live a full, healthy, and pain free life.

    You will assist the doctors and staff to the fullest possible extent, to help improve the quality of care given to the patients, and to aid the doctors in achieving greater efficiency. This position requires excellent customer service skills and an exceptional level of communication in a professional manner.  The ability to multitask, stay organized, focused and maintain an accurate account of financial transactions will be an essential part of your daily performance.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Become Fear Free Certified through provided means

    • Receive and place calls to clients for the purpose of scheduling

    • Confirm and follow up on appointments

    • Greet and assist clients with excellent customer service 

    • Accurately relay owner’s account of the medical complaint of the animal to healthcare team members

    • Maintain medical records ensuring that required documentation is provided

    • Take initiative and anticipate doctor, patient, and client needs

    • Use basic computer skills to include practice management software

    • Various other duties may be assigned under the direction of the Owner(s), Office/Practice Manager, Administrators or Managers

    Characteristics of the ideal candidate:

    • Customer service oriented

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Compassionate towards animals and owners

    • Detail oriented

    • Knowledge of terminology of veterinary medicine

    • At least one year experience as a veterinary receptionist is required

    • Two years of experience is preferred.
