Cobalt Product Solutions is a product development and manufacturing company located in Plano, Texas. We help our clients bring their ideas to life through our Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Prototyping and Production services. We work with our US and international partners to meet all of our client’s product development needs.
SUMMARY
Mechanical design and development of electro-mechanical products in the Medical, Industrial, Commercial and Natural Resources markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Involvement will range from concept development to product realization using 3D solid modeling software (PTC Creo and Solid Works)
• Mechanical design of mechanisms, machined metal parts, sheet metal parts, molded plastic parts, and electro-mechanical assemblies
• Material selection, tolerance analysis, structural analysis, thermal design, and UX design
• Development of specifications from customer requirements, coordination with the electronics design team, interfacing with vendors and contract manufacturers
• Prototyping, generation of detailed drawings, bills-of- materials, and engineering reports
• Coordination with the production for design for cost and manufacturability
• Project management for the mechanical aspects of projects
• Support for mechanical product validation testing and regulatory compliance
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors and/or Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency with PTC Creo
• Proficiency with SolidWorks a plus

• 5-7+ years experience in mechanical design related to electronics products.
• Working knowledge of FEA analysis

• High-level mathematical skills

• Limited travel required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit, speak, hear, stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, and lift up to 30 lbs. with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, feel or type and utilize a telephone, copier, printer, computer, calculator, mouse, keyboard and monitor to perform daily duties. The employee regularly engages in personal interaction with company personnel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus and utilize a computer monitor under florescent lighting and/or daylight where applicable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• The employee will occasionally be required to work in an engineering lab and/or machine shop
