    Job Description

    Paralegal with 3+ years’ experience to assist Attorneys and Chief Operating Officer with regards to the collection of Homeowners Association Dues. The position also includes assisting the Attorneys and Chief Operating Officer with other legal matters and projects.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Third Party Collections of Homeowners Association dues. Collections of delinquent assessments owed to Associations.

    • Initial First contact with homeowners who are delinquent on their homeowner’s association dues

    • Ability to speak with clients regarding the collection process

    • Ability to arrange a payment plan with delinquent individuals in a short timely manner

    • Monitor payment plans. Make sure payment arrangements are met in a timely manner and the payment plan is followed

    • Manage collection workflow with regards to collections letters, suits, FiFa’s and garnishments.

    • Drafting and preparation of legal documents, such as Complaints, Applications for Default Judgment, Motions for Summary Judgment and Motions to Compel Discovery and discovery responses.

    • Assisting attorneys in litigation, including counterclaims, court documents, scheduling of court hearings and hearing preparation.

    • Handles client inquiries and updates pertaining to individual files.

    • Maintains files, hearing notices, agendas, calendar, etc. for the attorney.

    • Follow up with courts and other legal departments regarding filed documents and hearings.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

    This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer

    External Relationships: Contact with homeowners, Board Members, and Property Managers

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

    • Knowledge of the FDCPA

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Email, Software, Printers and

    Phones.

    • Able to assist homeowners on payment options

    • Ability to look up case law

    • Experience in Filing liens preferred

    • Title Searches to determine ownership of property

    • Skip Tracing

    • Knowledge of Garnishments preferred

    • Ability to maintain a professional attitude with good customer service skills

    • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

    • Ability to work independently

    • Excellent time-management and general organizational skills

    • Neat, professional appearance
