    Code Ninjas is a growing global entertainment company in South Houston seeking a Director of Education. The Director of Education will oversee the development and expansion of Code Ninjas programs. They will work closely with the Education team to support and help lead the development of age-appropriate standards-based computer science curriculum, camps, and other materials and activities intended for kids age 8-14.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Ensure the success of specific programs, including the JR, CREATE, Camp, and new programs; use expertise to plan, direct, and manage education programs.

    Ensure the quality of programs.

    Oversee pilot programs.

    Communicate with franchisees about the programs you oversee.

    Work with internal teams and external partners to develop programs.

    Collect and organize feedback from stakeholders; use feedback to make programs successful.

    Work with Code Ninjas education team members and other contracted curriculum developers to collaborate on creating world-class coding curriculum.

    Mentor curriculum developers on the Code Ninjas education team.

    Other duties as assigned by VP of Education.

    Submit deliverables in a timely manner.

    Actively look for ways to improve effectiveness of programs.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, or similar field.

    7 years of experience teaching and/or developing curriculum for elementary school aged children in computer science.

    Experience in instructional design and methodologies, curriculum development, and Learning Management Systems.

    Experience teaching and/or developing curriculum using block and text based languages including JavaScript.

    Demonstrated passion for inclusively teaching all kids how to code.

    Ability to collaborate with a team and manage a single large project with multiple dependencies.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master’s degree in Education, Computer Science, or similar field.

    10+ years of experience teaching and/or developing curriculum for elementary school aged children in computer science.

    Experience working with after school programs.

    Demonstrated writing, organizational, and communication skills.

    Experience creating computer science curriculum from the ground up.

    Strong understanding of Computer Science standards and concepts for kids ages 5-14.
