Position: Code Sensei (Kids in 3rd - 10th grade levels) Do you love working with kids, and have experience working with elementary and middle school age children? Are you motivated to teach computer science/coding, enjoy creating STEM activities? If you answered yes, then this might be the job for you! Code Ninjas is looking for a Coding Teacher who can help create a fun and safe environment where children ages 8 to 14 years can learn Coding and Computer Science. The Teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching Code Ninjas CREATE program.

Responsibilities include (what you will be doing):

Create a positive, safe, and fun environment in which students can grow

Teach Code Ninjas’ CREATE curriculum (All core computer science concepts in block coding and syntax based coding… Microsoft MakeCode, JavaScript, C#/Unity), Clubs (STEM/Robotics/3D printing/ Minecraft, Roblox), Camps (a wide variety of STEM activities), and Game Jam (A super fun hackathon for young coders)

Develop/modify/run Coding activities to support our Coding Program and Camps curriculum

Engage with kids to assess their skill levels

Share your student’s success and feedback with parents

Keep the dojo safe and clean

Required Qualifications (who we're looking for):

Coder Role model for kids — you have prior personal coding experience, ideally from a young age and have come a long way in your own personal learning journey

Experience in teaching elementary school age kids

Enthusiastic about working with kids; mentoring and teaching

Confident, patient, kind, empathetic, understanding and approachable

An upbeat and fun individual with a passion for technology and learning

Takes initiative and has can-do attitude -- proactively offers to help others and solves problems

Quick learner with a growth mindset

Preferred qualifications (but not required):

Knows how to create content in Canva

Classroom management skills (small groups 4-6 kids ok)

Lives in Tracy, CA
