    Job Description

    Position Overview

    CS Prep is a 2-week, online, part-time program, covering JavaScript concepts, engineering best practices, and technical communication. The program includes live-online instruction, daily problem-solving workshops, and a passionate coding community to help students prepare for top coding boot camps.     Position Details Requirements:

    • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript and Computer Science concepts
    • Outgoing and welcoming personality
    • Ability to engage an audience in an online setting

    Desired (but not required):

    • Previous teaching experience
    • Ability to whiteboard using an iPad

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the ongoing instruction of the CSPrep program
    • Provide technical mentorship and lectures to CSPrep students throughout the program on beginner and intermediate JavaScript and computer science
    • Communicate closely with the CEO on curriculum, academic, cultural, and engineering developments
    • Take ownership over student excellence and aspiration in CSPrep
    • Act as the “face of Codesmith” by representing our culture, values, and community appropriately. 
    • Option to lead ad hoc online prep info sessions

    Commitment

    • The core program instruction runs for a total of 31 hours. It will require an additional 6-8 hours per week for preparation and review. 
    • The schedule is as follows: 
    • Week 1 & 2: MWF 5pm-8pmPST (8pm-11pmEST), Sat 9am-3pmPST (12pm-6pmEST)
    • Week 3: Monday (only) 7-8pmPST (10-11pmEST)
    • You will be responsible for the instruction of at least one cohort every 6-9 weeks
    • Minimum Commitment of 6 months (3 cohorts)

    Compensation

    • $45+ / hour (based on experience)
