    Position: Morning Barista

    Job Overview:

    The DoubleTree by Hilton in Downtown Portland is seeking a dedicated and energetic Morning Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, customer service, and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. This role involves preparing high-quality beverages, maintaining the cleanliness of the coffee shop, and providing exceptional service to our guests during the morning shift.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Beverage Preparation:
      • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and smoothies.
      • Ensure consistency and quality in every cup by following established recipes and presentation standards.
    • Guest Service: * Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service. * Take guest orders accurately and efficiently. * Address guest inquiries and resolve any complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Operational Duties: * Operate and maintain coffee-making equipment, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition. * Keep the coffee shop area clean and organized, including counters, machines, and seating areas. * Restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, and pastries as needed.
    • Sales and Cash Handling: * Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system. * Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. * Promote and upsell additional items such as pastries, snacks, and retail products.
    • Team Collaboration: * Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations during the shift. * Communicate effectively with team members and management to address any issues or special requests.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience and Skills:
      • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred.
      • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
      • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
      • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
    • Attributes: * Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays. * Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality. * Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
