Job Description

Coffman Engineers’ Seattle office is seeking a MECHANICAL DESIGNER with five or more years of drafting/design experience. The successful candidate will work within the mechanical engineering department to lead the successful development of design packages. Coffman’s Seattle office offers a small firm work environment with large firm opportunities.

In addition to being the Mechanical Drafter/Designer, for some projects the candidate may be the overall project CAD/BIM lead and will coordinate with other discipline engineers and designers to produce a multidiscipline engineering design package for client submittal. The candidate will also develop drawings in conformance with project specifications, Coffman or client CAD/BIM standards, scope of work, design parameters, and industry practices with the ability to deliver complete and accurate design packages.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a certified CAD training program or a Technical/Associates degree in engineering or related field (preferred).
• 5 or more years of progressive experience in AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical plumbing, piping, and HVAC ventilation design.
• Proficiency in:
  • Autocad and Revit software.
  • Setting up new projects utilizing company and client AutoCAD and Revit standard template files.
  • Coordinating with clients and outside design team members on drafting standards and file exchanges.
  • Coordinating design submittals. Publishing drawings in multiple formats and delivering internally or uploading digital files to clients.
  • Providing quality assurance of final design packages.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
