    Job Summary

    The Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical oversight and management of an integrated product development team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers and a document control team. In collaboration with the Staff Technologist, this position is also responsible for technical assessment of potential new development programs and continuous process improvements within the approved ISO processes.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    · Inspire, lead, organize and manage an engineering team that must meet changing requirements and diverse technologies to serve our customers’ time to market demands.

    · Responsible for compliance with the overall product development process and practical engineering best practices.

    · Oversee engineering execution of multiple complex projects from prototype to pre-production and transition to manufacturing.

    · Direct engineering resources in the generation of contractual documentation (SOW/WBS) for new proposals

    · Regularly collaborate with CT’s Staff Technologist to evaluate technical risk on programs, as well as to initiate and/or discuss strategies enabling highest likelihood for success across all programs.

    · Work with the Staff Technologist to recommend practices and policies consistent with Company goals and objectives in an open and collaborative manner.

    · Make determinations for equipment, staff and training needs in conjunction with the Staff Technologists

    · In conjunction with the PMO, assist in the determination of resource allocation and capacity planning activities.

    · Gathers and presents engineering utilization data and ensure adherence to time charging requirements of active programs and non-program activities.

    · Reinforce and encourage CCI core values and culture.

    · Manage in a transparent manner and lead by example.

    · Provide professional and technical assistance and guidance to associates and customers.

    · Resource planning to achieve a competent and flexible work force.

    · Provide engineering management with department performance and recommendations for improvement

    Qualifications

    · BS in an engineering/related discipline, MS preferred

    · 12+ years of engineering product development experience; demonstrated success of managing complex projects from inception to commercialization; excellent systems engineering skills critical

    · Experience with ERP and PDM systems required, Experience with Epicor E10, SolidWorks EPDM, and JIRA a plus

    · Experience with Agile management techniques a plus

    · Ability to clearly present data to support decision making

    · Excellent problem solving, written and communication skills, including experience presenting to customers and internal senior management.

    Working Environment

    · Generally works in an office environment, but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. Occasional travel required.

    Physical Requirements

    · Interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.

    · Must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone.
