VP of Communications and Engagement
Job Description:
Reporting to and in partnership with the 15-40 Connection Founder and President, the Vice President of Communications and Engagement is a key member of the executive team. The Vice President’s primary focus is to guide, strengthen and provide strategic direction for education and communication programs that save lives by teaching people how to detect cancer early.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Aligning education and communication goals and objectives with 15-4 Connection’s strategic plan.
Educating, and inspiring audiences utilizing a variety of platforms; leading the design and development of creative communications and education programs
Thinking “big picture” about strategic initiatives and making informed decisions about program creation and enhancements
Developing and executing strategic communication and public relations strategies that promote and enhance 15-40 Connection education programs and impact
Oversee the management and production of visual, graphic, written, oral, and video collateral for education programs, social media and presentations
Oversee media relations, including press releases, story pitches, and proactive deployment of spokespeople and response to inquiries
Website management; ensure a leading website and social media presence through oversight of content creation, graphic design, and response to website analytics
Supporting the development, execution and evaluation of social media strategies
Strengthening client experiences through communications that empower behavior change taught with 3 Steps Detect and other educational programs
Managing the execution and promotion of the annual signature fundraising event
Enhancing donor experiences through impactful communications and reports
Creating visibility for 15-40 Connection as a thought leader; engage influencers and visionaries
Monitor and measure the impact of all programs
The ideal candidate has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 8 years of management experience and is:
Curious and has exceptional strategic thinking skills
Skillful at crafting and delivering messaging that is clear, compelling and impactful.
Able to think strategically; creatively and use savvy communication tactics and execution
A strong project manager with the ability to juggle, think quickly and make independent decisions
Able to roll up their sleeves. As a member of a small organization, is willing to work together in the trenches (not code for tons of work) when all hands are needed.
A problem-solver who can get things moving, keep them on track, and switch gears if needed.
Skilled at communications team management has a keen understanding of the use of digital media in integrated communications strategies
Can clearly define team member roles and provide guidance and tools to facilitate goal achievement
Self-directed and has integrity, a positive attitude, a passion for 15-40 Connection's mission
