    Title: Coil Fabricator / Repair Technician

    Shift: Day shift, Monday - Friday, with 8-hour and 10-hour shifts available

    Salary: $21-24 per hour

     

    Who we are:

    Our client is a global leader in induction heating and melting technology with a history spanning over a century. They offer a wide range of equipment and solutions for various industrial applications, including heat treating, forging, and metal melting. We are seeking a Coil Fabricator/Repair Technician to join our team of skilled trades professionals.

    Coil Fabricator / Repair Technician Role:

    In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, winding, brazing, and repairing custom electrical coils made from copper tubing for induction heating and melting systems. You will work with a variety of tools, follow detailed blueprints, and help ensure that our coils meet exacting quality and performance standards.

    Coil Fabricator / Repair Technician Responsibilities:

    • Set up and operate winding machines and equipment based on coil size, copper tubing specs, number of turns, and design requirements

    • Read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, and technical drawings

    • Braze copper to copper and copper to brass using oxy-acetylene torch techniques

    • TIG weld stainless steel components as needed

    • Use various hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, sanders, levels, squares, and wrenches

    • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely to transport materials and completed coils

    • Perform testing and final assembly of melting furnaces using prefabricated parts and hydraulic systems

    • Follow all housekeeping and safety procedures in accordance with company standards

    Coil Fabricator / Repair Technician Reporting Relationships:

    This position reports to a production supervisor. This position does not have any direct reports.

    About You:

    • Have a high school diploma or equivalent

    • Have at least one year of experience in coil assembly, repair, or copper winding preferred

    • Read and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, and bills of material

    • Be familiar with hand tools and power tools in an industrial environment

    • Possess strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

    • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a moderately loud factory setting
