    Job Description

    Colby Community College is accepting applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach online classes in the following disciplines: English, science, humanities, math, and social and behavioral sciences. 

    This position requires a willingness to work with high school students and teach in varying delivery formats, including the Canvas learning management system and the Zoom platform.

    Adjunct Faculty must:

    • Prepare and deliver assigned course materials from a CCC Master Course Shell.
    • Establish and maintain regular and effective communication with students, faculty colleagues, and administrators. 
    • Respond to Emails, phone calls, and Canvas-based questions within 24 hours.
    • Assess student learning outcomes, course objectives, and course competencies; assess student work in a timely manner (within one week of submission), and
    • Submit course grades by the posted deadline.
    • Actively engage students in critical thinking, metacognitive processes, and the advancement of essential skills. 
    • Understand and impress the importance of academic integrity, innovative thinking, teamwork, and technology to increase enrollment and student success in a rural setting.

    SALARY/WAGE $550 per credit hour taught

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Master’s degree in the chosen discipline, or a master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate credits in the concentration.
    • Previous online teaching experience.

    Preferred

    • Higher education teaching experience.
    • High school credential in Kansas preferred.
    • Experience with the Canvas learning management platform.
