JOB SUMMARY
The Journeyman/Secondman is a member of the crew responsible for installation of refrigeration systems following customer specifications, applicable building code and proper piping practices.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides support on construction job by piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, including electrical wiring as required to complete the project.
- Provides the required installation of pipe hangers as directed by the foreman.
- Provides construction support by welding and slip hosing copper pipes, and assists the foreman as needed on the job.
- Provides support by handing cooler box coils and installing new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodeling existing supermarket refrigeration systems.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school. College degree is a plus.
- Experience in commercial building construction or other related industry/trade. Refrigeration specific experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours.
- Ability to operate a forklift and scissor.
- Prior brazing experience is a plus.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Track record of punctuality and dependability.
