DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our exciting and fast-paced downtown Oakland law firm is looking for an Associate Attorney to represent clients in legal matters either independently or under the supervision of a shareholder.

▪ Provides effective legal consultation, services and advice to clients, and represents clients in state and federal court and agency litigation/proceedings, at a level consistent with his or her level of experience

▪ Prepares all legal documents necessary for the effective representation of clients (including, but not limited to, memoranda, legal briefs, opinion letters, and/or general correspondence)

▪ Maintains excellent working knowledge of substantive law, state and federal judicial systems (including local court rules) and procedures

▪ Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, decision-makers, consultants and other counsel

▪ Ability to work under strenuous and stressful conditions and be able to effectively respond to client, office, and court needs on short notice when requested. Associates are sometimes required to travel to locations away from the office, occasionally for extended periods of time, to perform services on behalf of clients or the Company

▪ Ability to effectively research and analyze legal issues and formulate creative responses
