    Join our cutting-edge team as an Intern at Collaborative Robotics and help us to design, build, and innovate the robotics industry!

    At Collaborative Robotics, we are in the active build phase of developing a new mobile, collaborative robot.  We are seeking highly motivated university students in their junior/senior year of a bachelor's degree program or in a master's degree program (graduating December 2023 and/or spring/summer 2024) or PhD candidates to contribute to this build alongside our team.  We believe in nurturing a collaborative, dynamic, and inspiring learning environment developing practical skills and experience in bringing up physical hardware and systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Collaborate with a team of like-minded innovators with experiences in a multitude of high tech industries to prototype robotic systems
    2. Apply your electrical, embedded, or mechanical engineering expertise to design, prototype, test, deliver features, and deploy to production alongside the engineering team
    3. Dive into the intricate world of sensors, actuators, and control systems to help us develop, troubleshoot, and integrate our first generation of robots
    4. Share your knowledge and skills with your teammates, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth

    _This is an onsite role in our Santa Clara, CA office. _

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Embedded Software
    • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team
    • Must be able to work a full-time schedule (approximately 40 hours per week) at our office location in Santa Clara, CA
    • Must obtain work authorization in the United States at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

    Collaborative Robotics has three different internship paths for 2023: MechE, EE, and Embedded. Applicants will be automatically considered for all.

    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with requirements gathering
    • MCAD design experience (Solidworks, Creo, Inventor, NX preferred)
    • Experience with FEA analysis tools
    • Experience with dynamics, mechanism design, structures, rapid prototyping
    • Proficiency with common machine shop tools also including 3D printers and laser cutters
    • MATLAB or Python Experience
    • GD&T Experience

    ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

    • ECAD design experience (Eagle, KiCad, ALtium, Cadence)
    • Experience with LT Spice
    • Proficiency with analog design, power electronics, digital design
    • Proficiency with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies
    • Proficiency with soldering equipment
    • MATLAB or Python experience

    EMBEDDED ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with C or C++ required, Python preferred
    • Experience with microcontroller and embedded Linux systems
    • Experience in debugging embedded systems, working with logic analyzers
    • Experience with lab tools, soldering equipment
    • Experience with operating systems, device driver integration, and real-time systems preferred
    • Experience with communication protocols such as UART, RS-232, RS-485, I2C, CAN
    • Preferred experience with ROS

    COMPENSATION:

    Interns at Collaborative Robotics will be granted a monthly salary, and in case they require relocation from their current residence (over 50 miles away from the office), they will be given flight compensation and a modest housing allowance.
