Collibra Solutions Architect

Remote, Contract job in Oregon

Solution architecture services include development of the data model framework, mapping of asset relationships, customization of templates, role cleanup and customization, writing scripts in Collibra's Business Process Model Notation, and workflow design and implementation.

Data Governance expertise working with SME to map business terms to ingested data elements for the financial data mart and support the Data Governance Program in training data stewards in data management in the platform, should time permit.

Successful delivery requires ongoing collaboration between Contractor and County, as such the Contractor shall commit to:

• Providing development status and hours updates each week.
• Communicating development needs and informing manager as soon as tasks are complete.
• Attend online meetings, as required, by the Data Governance Program Manager (M-F PST). Working hours are flexible with advance agreement.

Minimum deliverables:

• Customization of Business Glossary and Data Dictionary templates
• Data mapping of acronyms, legacy terms, and business rules across existing financial business glossary and data elements.
• Role and license cleanup of the data stewardship operating model.
• Approval workflow flow data governance processes.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of DAMA data governance models and concepts.
• Advanced skills designing and mapping relationships among operational models, data entities, data attributes, and resource role and permissions.
• Ability to cleanup existing permissions and communities.
• Fluency in Collibra Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) and ability to identify BPMN elements and recognize requirements for writing scripted tasks for Collibra approval workflows for governing metadata.
• Create training materials for data stewards to walk them through workflows and tools (with time).

Nice to haves

• Experience identifying data governance metrics for lines of business and designing dashboards to educate project teams on data maturity of data governance maturity..
• Develop custom technical lineage for unsupported data sources: organize files required for the batch definition folder, define JSON properties needed for metadata files, understand when the use the props property in lineage,json files, use custom lineage python scripts, convert single to batch format, and call Collibra APIs to get asset information.
• Advanced skills registering new data sources and bringing in custom metadata. (SQL, SSRS, Google Workspace, On premise Tableau, Service Now, Workday and Questica APIs, PowerBI in Azure). Knowledge to organize files for the batch definition ingestion.
• Ability to launch and connect a dev environment (currently working in production).
• Practice identifying critical data elements used for reporting and compliance and people skills, working with stewards to improve data quality.
• Background in finance or budget.
