    Class 101 helps students and families navigate the college planning process with confidence. From test prep and college lists to scholarships and admissions timelines, we equip families with a clear roadmap for success. Our centers provide personalized guidance, proven resources, and a supportive experience that empowers students to reach their goals.

    We are growing our team and seeking a College Advisor to support students and families through the college planning journey. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring, building relationships, and working with students in a structured, supportive environment.

    Role Overview

    As a College Advisor, you will work directly with high school students and their families to guide them through the college planning process using Class 101’s proven curriculum and tools. You’ll support students with goal setting, timelines, applications, scholarships, and decision-making while maintaining clear communication with families.

    This is a part-time, hourly role with student-based incentive opportunities. Approximately 95% of advising is conducted remotely, with occasional in-person sessions or events as needed based on location and family preferences.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead one-on-one and small-group advising sessions using Class 101’s structured college planning curriculum

    • Guide students through key milestones including test prep planning, college exploration, applications, and scholarships

    • Help students build balanced college lists aligned with academic, financial, and personal goals

    • Maintain consistent, professional communication with families regarding progress and next steps

    • Motivate and support students to stay engaged and on track throughout the process

    • Document advising notes and updates accurately in Class 101 systems

    • Participate in team meetings, training, and collaboration with advisors and the Center Director

    • Support workshops, webinars, or community events as needed (virtual and occasional in-person)

    • (Optional) Host family information sessions to support enrollment efforts and earn additional incentives

    What We’re Looking For

    Required / Core Qualifications

    • Experience working with teens, families, or in education, coaching, advising, or youth programs

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both students and parents

    • Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple students

    • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote-first environment

    • Willingness to learn and follow a structured advising curriculum and systems

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred (education, counseling, psychology, or related field a plus)

    Highly Preferred (Not Required)

    • Direct experience in college planning, admissions advising, or college access programs

    • Familiarity with selective college admissions, including Ivy League institutions

    • Knowledge of or experience supporting students applying to HBCUs

    • Background in programs such as TRIO, Upward Bound, College Advising Corps, or similar college access initiatives

    • Experience helping students navigate scholarships, financial aid, and admissions timelines
