    POSITION SUMMARY

    Carmen seeks a reliable and responsible team member to serve as the College and Career Team Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the College and Career Team. This role is focused on helping students access the resources and guidance they need to make informed decisions about their educational and career paths. The Assistant works closely with the College and Career Team members to support the implementation of college and career programming.

    Salary Range: $20/hour

    Location : Northwest High School, Southeast High School, and South High School

    QUALIFICATIONS


    • Associate's degree or some college coursework required; bachelor's degree preferred
    • Must have valid driver's license
    • Familiarity with Gmail, Google Forms, Google Docs, Google Sheets, GCal and Google Maps
    • Belief and commitment to our mission
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to, staff, students, parents, and school leadership
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent follow through
    • Demonstrated responsibility to being on time, on task, and meeting deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Knowledge of college admissions processes, career planning resources, or experience in a school setting
    • Bilingual preferred

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


    Administrative Duties

    • Handle phone calls, emails, and other inquiries, providing information and directing students and parents to appropriate resources
    • Prepare, distribute, and collect materials for workshops, college fairs, career events, and other activities
    • Help maintain accurate records of student interactions, program participation, and resource usage
    • Input and manage data related to student activities and program outcomes. Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information

    Student Assistance

    • Provide students with information about college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and career opportunities
    • Assist students in navigating online resources for college and career exploration
    • Help recruit students for college and career opportunities and events. Work with students (and parents) for permission to attend off-campus college and career programs
    • Guide students in scheduling meetings with the College and Career Readiness Coordinators

    Event Coordination

    • Help schedule, greet, and coordinate college rep visits
    • Help support and chaperone college and career off-campus events (e.g., college tours, career site visits, etc.)
    • Assist in promoting events through flyers, emails, slides, announcements, etc.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Hours: Typically between 7:30am and 3:30pm (depending on campus); hours can range from 10-30 per week, depending on programming needs
