    Position description: Lead Fertilization Technician will ensure all CFL Lawn technicians have the proper equipment, calibration of equipment, materials, and instructions needed for the day every morning. They will also be responsible for inventory management and chemical tracking for every technician. The lead technician will be responsible for all client site visits to address any concerns regarding disease diagnosis and/or problem areas. They will be responsible for lawn applications to clients properties when not involved in diagnosis/problem area calls. The Lead Fertilization & Weed Control Technician must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of weed control and its applications to include safe handling of materials, proper mixing and transporting of materials, First Aid procedures in case of an accident or spillage, proper application of materials, proper operation of all equipment, ordering correct materials, interfacing with customers, etc. The Lead Fertilization & Weed Control Technician must be able to work with minimal supervision and conduct all work in a safe manner. The Lead Fertilization & Weed Control Technician must also attend to and complete all paperwork and administrative requirements related to the job while maintaining a professional demeanor.     Reports to: The Lead Weed Control Technician reports directly to the Operations Manager/Supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.

    Has a minimum of three years of experience in weed control or other Green Industry field.

    Thoroughly understands all aspects of weed control as outlined above and in company SOPs.

    Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.

    Have a clean criminal record.

    Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility.

    Physically able to handle the work load of a Weed Control Technician.

    Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.

    Able to lift 60 pounds without assistance.

    Proficient in English in oral and written forms.

    Has proper applicator’s licenses and certifications, if applicable.

    Able to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner daily.

    Continuing education requirement: minimum of 3 hours per year.

    Responsibilities:

    Able to operate company equipment: trucks, backpack sprayers, hose reels, motorized spreaders, etc.

    Able to perform all daily preventative maintenance (PM) on company equipment.

    Able to operate GPS locator system for client scheduling.

    Proficient in or able to learn customer relationship management (CRM) software.

    Meets or exceeds company production standards for weed control work.

    Ensures that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget.

    Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.

    Ensures all workers’ compensation insurance claims are properly documented and reported immediately.

    Ensures all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately.

    Looks for extras and up-sales, and converts them into work orders when appropriate.

    Ensures all work orders are processed correctly.

    Interfaces with office staff to ensure on-hand inventory of job materials is adequate.

    Ensures that company production standards are met.

    Maintains a clean crew truck at all times.

    Able to fill out and process all necessary job paperwork, purchase orders, and time sheets, etc.

    Able to interact with clients and potential clients in a professional, courteous, and competent manner.

    Able to train a weed control apprentice and maintain an elevated level of morale.

    Ensures that job cost reports are properly analyzed.

    Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.

    Able to work with minimal supervision from Operations Manager/Supervisor, but knows when to ask for assistance.

    Salary, bonus, and/or commissions: Commensurate with experience ($15.00 to $22.00 per hour). Benefits: PTO, Retirement plan with 3% match
