  • Responsibilities

    The Radiology Technician performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner in a busy and large operating room/surgery department and in regular diagnostic rad exams for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center.  Operates X-ray equipment, C-ARMS, XI-SCAN, develops film, and prepares patient’s room, equipment, supplies and medications and is comfortable working in a surgical suite with both nurses and surgeons.  Provides patient services using imaging modalities.  Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams preformed.

    We are looking for coverage in the following areas:   Fridays, weekday morning and evening coverage, Call coverage.

    Required Skills

    Required skills included

    • Responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients
    • Ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions dependent on the age group of the population served.
    • Ability to discuss treatment/service and to provide education information to patients/families in age group served
    • Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.

    Required Experience

    Required education, certification and experience:

    EDUCATION                                                                                                               

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION                                                                                         

    • Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate
    • Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License
    • Current BLS certification

    SPECIFIC JOB EXPERIENCE

    • Two to five years’ experience specific to surgical/diagnostic radiological exam
