  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Perform inspections and routine maintenance on control stations, ammonia refrigerated evaporator units and all MAU’s to ensure there operating as designed. Responsible for operation of Engine Rooms and utility duties. This position works twelve - hour shifts, with rotating days off.

    MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    _(ESSENTIAL DUTIES FOR WHICH THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE.) _

    • Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
    • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
    • Direct workers engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery.
    • Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
    • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
    • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
    • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
    • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
    • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    • Confer with other departments to coordinate activities or repairs.
    • Perform activities of workers supervised.
    • Daily inspections and repairs of cooling fans, belts, and electrical.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on solenoid vales, shutoff valves, and regulators.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on Makeup Units.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on Refrigerated Makeup Air Units and hanging Evaporators.
    • Other duties may be assigned.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Lock Out Tag Out authorization
    • Must be able to work in extreme hot and/or cold environments with high noise levels

    Required Skills

    _EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS _

    • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
    • One-year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience/training.
    • Abilities to troubleshoot electrical and various processes throughout the facility.
    • Knowledge of the refrigeration layout and locations throughout the facility.
    • Three to five years of Maintenance experience in food processing facility.
