The Designer will work in collaboration with the Creative team under clear art direction and a flexible toolkit of brand standards. The designer's mission is to create and deliver effective design solutions that assert the proper brand look and feel, communicate clearly with the customer; balance business objectives with customer needs and push the creative quality of every execution.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design of assets for retail, wholesale and internal communications projects
- Collaborate with other Graphic Designers under the direction of Senior Designers and Creative Leadership to develop assets for Seasonal Digital and Print Advertising, Direct Mail, Logos/Lock Ups, Hangtags, Labels, Style Guides, Presentations, Retail and Specialty Packaging, Environmental Display and Signage, promotional materials, PR, lookbooks etc.
- Maintain brand and typographic consistency across materials and brand channels
- Anticipate and resolve creative challenges independently when needed
- Stay current on design/fashion/editorial/retail/competitor trends and technology developments
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required
Required Skills
EDUCATION
- BFA in Communications Design, Graphic Design or related field (Design or Creative Studies)
REQUIREMENTS
- Portfolio required
- 3-5 years experience within a design studio or creative agency, 3+ years print.
- Digital Advertising experience required; web design a plus.
- Previous experience with fashion, retail and/or lifestyle brands preferred
- Demonstrated innovative print design solutions
- Outstanding typographic and layout skills
- Familiarity with and/or expertise in brand identity and the digital experience
- Expert/advanced skills with Adobe CS and standard industry software
Desired knowledge:
- InDesign: styles and master pages, presentations, pre-press mechanical prep and export, expert type manipulation/typography skills
- Photoshop mastery including non-destructive layers, asset generation, light retouching (re background extensions/compositing) artboards, web best practices and expert type manipulation.
- Passion for graphic design within the store environment or social media sphere a plus
- Must be highly motivated and independent; an enthusiastic team player
- Strong ability to multi-task, work under pressure and manage time efficiently to meet all project deadlines.
- Must have the communication skills necessary to collaborate productively in large interdisciplinary teams that include creative leads, merchandising, marketing, store design, graphic design and visual merchandising teams.
