Must be admitted to MD bar, licensed to practice law in MD, and in Good Standing; DC bar a plus Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will: • Draft and respond to discovery. • Draft, respond, and argue motions in trial courts at all levels. • Have exemplary communication that is clear, efficient, and professional with senior associates, paralegals, and clients. • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is available for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. • Highly collaborative with the capability to work with clients, support staff, attorneys, and other associates within the office. • Perform legal research, prepare and attend hearings or other legal proceedings. • Prepared to regularly handle court appearances and deliver consistent exceptional client service both inside and outside of the courtroom. • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients. • Maintain and manage caseload and responsible for managing all aspects of those cases (from investigation to trial). • Highly effective and professional written and verbal communication skills. Qualifications: • On-site position only, no remote work. • 3+ years of litigation experience in state courts with experience and a strong interest in Family Law. • Bar Admissions : Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Maryland; DC bar a plus. • Excellent analytical and legal skills. • Resourceful and creative problem solver. • Strong time management and organization skills. • Eager to learn with a willingness to gain extensive knowledge of the firm's procedures to communicate effectively with staff, management, attorneys, and clients. • Self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently and in a unified team. • Thorough and pays meticulous attention to details. • Successful in managing and meeting timely deadlines. • Solid understanding of basic software and use of same • Ability to adapt to changes within the law and technology to include court systems. • Willingness and want to learn from senior attorneys to meet client needs and grow client base.
