This Personal Care Assistant (PCA)/Mentor position is to support a 14 year-old young woman with special needs with all areas of self-care, educational activities, physical activities, and daily organization. The PCA/Mentor will also act as a "peer" mentor to this young woman, helping her develop independence in the life skills appropriate for a woman her age, as wells as support and encourage a positive attitude and optimistic outlook on a daily basis. The perfect female candidate for this position is someone with a a strong interest in working with a teen with special needs, a positive outgoing attitude, a commitment to helping develop a young person's skills and abilities, and the availability to work early mornings and evenings (split shift). Partnering with the family, the person in this position will set monthly goals and create strategies to achieve those goals. Work hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 7:30am and three hours in the afternoon/evening (flexible). Work location is Edina, Minnesota.
