Delivery Driver Colonial Distributing - Tampa, FL Job Purpose The primary responsibility of the Driver is to help meet the needs of customers by delivering and picking up products in a timely, safe and courteous manner. Duties and Responsibilities * Communicate daily with Colonial team members, drivers and members of the general public; providing assistance where required * Maintain solid employee relations

• Review current days work to ensure all areas have been serviced * Safely transport products to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous manner. * Delivery process including: packing lists, Invoices, COD & Return processing * Maintain the service and appearance of truck * Follow delivery/pickup instructions * Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes * Follow route and time schedule * Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle * Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients complaints * Collect payments * Inform on new products and services * Follow DOT regulations and safety standards Qualifications and Requirements * Must hold a valid Commercial Class A Drivers License. * Must qualify physically, and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate, under the requirements of 49 CFR, Section 391 43-49 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. * Must have a driving record in Good Standing and No DUI/DWI or drug conviction in last 5 years * Previous CDL Driving experience * Professional appearance * Ability to read maps efficiently
• Strong customer service * Ability to function well as part of a team * Diligent attention to detail and safety * High school diploma or equivalent * Driver's license Class A * Acceptable DOT drug test history
• Able to handle Cash transactions Working conditions The incumbent is required to drive, walk, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and is regularly exposed to extreme heat or cold, or temperatures consistent with outdoor weather. Physical requirements * Able to multi-task and work under pressure environment * Frequent holding and grasping with the hands when loading and unloading equipment. * Frequent use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal/s on equipment and trucks * Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 70 lbs. * The ability to walk, bend, reach, push, stoop, squat, and climb, as necessary, to perform vehicle inspections required under 49 CFR Sections 396.11-15 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Preferred Education or Experience * Minimum 1 year delivery driving experience * High school diploma or equivalent * Driver's license Class A Department or Location Located in Tampa and surrounding areas.
