    PIH Health is seeking an experienced Colorectal Surgeon to join our dynamic, patient-centered team in Whittier, California. This is a unique opportunity to be the solo dedicated colorectal surgeon in a well-established, high-volume referral area, working in collaboration with a large, integrated multi-specialty medical group.

    Position Highlights:

    • High-volume referral base : Robust network of primary care and specialty providers ensures a steady stream of complex and diverse cases.
    • Solo colorectal surgeon in the area: Take ownership of your practice while benefiting from a strong, built-in support system.
    • Part of a large, multi-specialty team : Enjoy multidisciplinary collaboration across surgical specialties.
    • Work on complex cases : Opportunities to treat advanced colorectal disease, including cancer, IBD, diverticulitis, pelvic floor disorders, and more.
    • Strong interdepartmental collaboration : Collegial environment with seamless cooperation across departments.
    • Unique Opportunity: Opportunity to lead and shape the development of a Colorectal Center of Excellence, with the goal of establishing a premier program.

    General Surgery Call :

    • 5 general surgery call shifts per month.
    • 7:00 AM handoff ensures smooth transitions.
    • When you’re on call, you’re only on call

    Required Skills

    • Significant experience with all aspects of treating patients with all types of general surgical procedures including diagnosis and medical treatment.
    • In addition, should possess the advanced knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive care to patients.
    • Experience in the interpretation, magnetic resonance imaging, CT scans, and other diagnostic tests utilized in general surgery.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities
    • Independent performer and demonstrate self-assessment of their outcomes.

    Required Experience

    • Current California medical license (or ability to obtain)
    • Graduate of an accredited medical school
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery
    • Robotics trained with experience in minimally invasive colorectal procedures
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education and professional development to maintain licensure and clinical excellence
