POSITION SUMMARY:

If you love managing large construction projects, mentoring others and are passionate about safety, Southland has an opportunity for you as a Project Manager!   In this role, you will work on an exciting, multi-million dollar commercial MEP project, while developing future project managers and leaders.  We're looking for a strong leader who is skilled at managing processes, workflow and a small team who is responsible for our commissioning and QA/QC activities.  This is the primary responsible of this role, but will also include key collaboration and activities with our entire project team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

• Provide leadership and management of a team who is responsible for the Commissioning and QA/QC activities and workflow at our job site.
• Improve metrics on completion of outstanding work
• Coordinate with the trades and schedule with vendors to get equipment to the job site for installation
• Forecast, schedule and make sure deadlines are kept and there is a smooth transition from start to finish
• Participate in project meetings with internal departments.
• Keep track of all paperwork and processes to ensure accuracy and on-time completion dates
• Partners with stakeholders to ensure scope and direction of project is on schedule
• Delegate work and serve as a mentor to the Commissioning and QA/QC team and provide coaching and performance feedback as necessary

 WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Strong experience and understanding of the construction process as it pertains to MEP work
• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable Construction experience
• Minimum 7 years' experience
• Proven ability to manage a team
• Excellent organizational skills that include the ability to forecast, track and manage equipment installs
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Strong financial acumen
• Excellent project management skills
• Experience managing subcontractors, working with vendors and field personnel
• Strong computer skills, including CADD, ERP and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
• Experience working with BIM 360 Field is a plus
